On December 8th and 9th
of 2008, the FACCSF, PRIME, System@tic and CCI Essonne organized a trade
mission for 6 French innovative hi-tech companies. With a strong presence in
France, these companies have decided to explore the US market - to discover
its opportunities and its likeminded focus on innovation and service.
During the San Francisco leg of the trip, the companies each underwent an
intensive two day program, featuring a conference on Open Source business
models and meetings with experts - lawyers, accountants, IT
specialists and CEOs, project managers, public relations coordinators,
bankers, IP experts, and more - all tailored to each companies needs.
If you participated
in the session and wish to obtain the contact information for
the companies and audience members, contact Victor at
events@faccsf.com
We would like warmly
thank our participating experts, partners, and companies
"I was very satisfied
with the organization and caliber of contacts that [the Chamber] had
developed for me. In such a short span of time, I was able to benefit from a
program that was both efficient and an extremely rich learning experience.
For medium/small sized business, this element is critical ...Your warm
welcome and enthusiasm truly elevated the trade mission."

INL
Vincent
Deffontaines, CEO
INL, an
innovative IT security and software company, was founded in 2004 by two
recognized IT security experts Éric Leblond and Vincent Deffontaines.
Vincent is the official translator of Apache French documentation and he
also publishes articles in reviews such as La revue « Securité Informatique
», MISC and Linux Magazine France. Éric Leblond is a major contributor to
the Netfilter project in addition to speaking and writing about IT security
issues. Jérôme Notin joined the company in 2005 as Commercial Director and
has increased the turnover of the company five-fold to approximately
530.000€.
INL helps
enhance IT security with NuFW, a new generation firewalling technology
that includes exclusive innovations offering new authentication and
user tracking possibilities. For the first time, it is possible to
strictly define and use a filtering policy based on a user’s
information instead of IP addresses.
NuFW is packaged
in EdenWall, a UTM firewall for companies wishing to effectively deploy
their security strategy. Access permissions enforced by EdenWall are very
strict: no insecure IP/Mac = User binding is ever performed. The algorithm
allows authenticated filtering even on computers with multiple users and is
exclusive to INL.
EdenWall also
effectively addresses the following problems:
-
How to provide
multi-protocol, firewall filtering based on a user's ID instead of only
computer IP addresses
-
How to provide
access to internal information and resources to road warrior users
according to the organization's identity-based access rights
-
How to restrict
user access rights for connections passing through a WIFI access point
-
How to keep
track of users’ network activity (SOX)
In France INL’s
clients include the army, the national education system, hospitals and NATO
as well as private businesses.

Sparkom
Franck
Rougeau, CEO
Sparkom is an
Internet software company founded in 2005 by Franck Rougeau and Philippe
Martinou.
Sparkom has
created SparkAngels, the first Digital Coaching On-line Service
Platform that makes sharing digital know-how between people around the
world easy, fun, instantaneous and valuable. With SparkAngels you can
show your screen and get help at home from anyone connected to the web.
You can share screens freely with your friends and family or you can
find experts on the SparkAngels marketplace if you need immediate
remote professional support. Never again be alone in front of your
screen.
SparkAngels is
already used by over 200,000 individuals and companies in 90 countries
around the world and appears to be the Web 2.0 answer to the digital divide
problem. Sharing, helping, coaching, doing together are fundamentals of the
SparkAngels service to bring the communication level between people one step
further.
SparkAngels sets
a value to digital literacy and brings the complete environment to sell that
value to those in need. This gives an opportunity for individuals to add
their own value to the service market and to the enterprises to rely on a
potentially infinite community of coaches to support their online business.
Remote digital coaching brings significant savings to digital assistance
expenses.
Franck Rougeau,
co-founder of SparkAngels, is visiting the Bay Area (New York) in order to
investigate how this service could better address the US digital
environment. The company is planning to develop communities of coaches and
partnerships with enterprises that are ready to rely on managed
Internet coaches to support their business. The Sparkom business model
follows a marketplace model based on an intermediation fee complemented by a
“Software as Service” model for businesses that are more attracted by a
white label offer.
